Google Chrome HTTPS connection standards change
Good evening everyone,
A minor notice to those who may not be up to date with the latest tech trends:
The google chrome web browser will be transitioning to what is called "https standards" instead of the previous "http" format.
What this dumbs down to is: google will now use a form of "pre-approval" for website security.
Therefore, if your internet browser is google chrome, you may receive a small security alert when on a web page that starts with "http" instead of "https" (as does ours).
Do not be alarmed, this does not mean a site (ours) is not secure. The goal is to prevent things like credit card fraud on websites who do not use secure connections. Since our website does not manage any kind of monetary or confidential data transactions, these warnings can be ignored.
Nothing about our forum security has changed.
If you would like to learn more, I invite you to visit this link: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
We may eventually transition to https, but for now that requires jumping through a lot of hoops, and is not necessary.
Happy Driving!
David V.
