I have not, but I can confirm that the rear shelf is a marvelous place for a well behaved (and very large) dog to hang out.

My car actually had an extra seat belt for securing a dog. I know this because the rear carpet was pretty much covered with dog hair!

Hello Arthur,
Just curious what you have in mind ?
If it's just for looks, I get it. That would be kinda cool.
There's certainly no room even for small kids, plus, it would be way dangerous by todays standards.
Also, if yours is per factory build, there is no support through the middle. I noticed that when building mine and added a full length piece of angle iron to it.
I can stand on mine and jump up and down with no ill effects.
If you do it, I'd sure like to see pictures.

10 years ago I had a Porsche 356 VW based that had a back seat that was just enough for the dog or for 2 grandchildren to go a few miles for an ice cream. That's my thought.

Sure sounds like fun. If there's ice cream involved, I'm for it. Hope you can make it work. Would still like to see pictures when you're done.
