Fender bead removal Empty Fender bead removal

Post by Wjcoates Wed Dec 20, 2023 1:05 pm

I am thinking of removing the chrome fender bead and fairing the joint smooth.
Has anyone done this? If so, were the results good? Are there photos available?
I noticed someone is looking for the chrome beading and I would remove it carefully and make it available to members.

Not sure what you mean when asking if the results were good. Obviously there is a personal preference aesthetic difference between with/with-out beads that only you can decide. The narrower Sebring 5000's look good with the beads when everything else about the car is styled closely to a real Austin Healey. There will need to be bodywork and paint, of course. Plenty of pics of Sebrings online with and without fender beads.
