broken third member on sebring 5000
i have a ford eight inch rear with the ...according to the manual...optional third member....which i suppose is a classic roadsters supplied part. anyone have one of these not being used? this third member is attached to the top of the rear differential and and to a mounting in the tunnel area just behind the handbrake assembly! any help would be appreciated!

i was able to have it welded and reinforced. it was amazing how loose the rear of the car felt with it not in place. i cant imagine that it was optional!

I can believe it! I have been considering converting my 5000 to a link type rear setup. Mine squirms around under hard acceleration like it is on grease. Has a nasty tendency to pull hard one way or the other too.
