My Sebring does not have the Correct Long AH hinges on the trunk. It has the short squared off hinges. Has anyone replaced these? Did you have any paint issues due to the different footprint?

I believe the short hinges were a cheaper option. One of the manuals I have shows both styes.

Hard to believe that you would not have finish issues as the original Healey hinges are very narrow. The short hinges are boat parts I think.

Are you sure your car is painted? Many are just polished gel coat. The gel coat is much tougher and thicker that paint. It's possible that any discoloration could be buffed out of gel coat.

I would think your main issue would be the holes. The marine hinges have an entirely different pattern than the Healey parts.

Thanks for the reply. I am probably going to stay with what I have. May take them off and buff around the holes and lay down a paper template and decide. Holes may very well be a show stopper.
