Front coil springs Empty Front coil springs

Post by Scard Tue Jun 16, 2020 1:12 am

Hi...time to do the front suspension. I need to replace the front coil springs and the ones in there look like they have been on the car from when it was built in 1989. It is a 1978 Mustang 2 set up and the standing free height seems to be around 12 1/2 inches. Anyone got a source or a link for replacements? It was sitting very low so I’m thinking the 13 1/2 inch free standing ones without cutting? Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Steve

The factory recommended Pinto front springs, but even those are too hard.  Check the MOOG web site for a list of available springs. The list gives dimensions of both lengths and wire sizes. If you find one you like, you can order it from your local auto parts supplier.
