Two tone paint
I have one if the two tone red with white body cars. I am changing the colour and noticed the white appears to be a vinyl wrap style? Has anyone tried to remove this white portion. If so is it an easy job or does it splinter on removal.

I am not familiar with what you have specific, but have heard that in general vinyl wrap is easier to remove when gently heated.
Good luck.
What color are you going to?

Still a red but more of a deep red and the white portion will be a cream. I redid my black interior to a two tone tan. Getting the top redone over winter. I also had the louvred hood flattened and added a back mounted hood scoop.

Has anyone figured out a way to snug the hood down. I see a lot of cars like mine with the slight gap between the hood and fender. My paint match was not the best so that is also why I’m going to alter the whole car to a deep red over the winter.

Also. Where can I find a chrome roll bar. I’ve tried to line up a few but the size is odd.

Lookin good! For the vinyl wrap, the older it is, the harder it will be to remove. Either way this is best done with gentle heat application to soften the glue (hair dryer or heat gun). There should be very little chance of damaging the underlying gel-coat, unless there's already a crack or defect in it somewhere that decides to splinter.
For the hood, my hood latch has a bunch of little home-made aluminum spacers between it and the cross-brace to get the fit juuuuust right Depending on how the glass was laid, you may have to put very thin spacers over the rear-hinges to raise the back up a bit and allow the front to come down.
My roll-bars were made with leftover stainless railing originally intended for a shopping-mall bannister. You could look at getting stainless bent to the shape you need (polishes up to nearly chrome).

Thanks for the advice. I will ponder it. It’s winter up here now so I have it tucked away.

Where did you get your side pipes. I was thinking about adding that to mine. Kinda worried about the heat and the vinyl wrap though. I drove in a 63 vette with side pipes and burnt my leg all to hell once so not sure if I want to go this way. I’m making a new dash and console in the spring and gonna drop in air conditioning.

Previous owner had them made by a (now defunct) company in California. They're very loud and sound great, but I can confirm my legs have been burnt more than once (even with a heatshield, they still find a way). I can imagine the vinyl being a problem in that case. Looking forward to seeing how you get on. Feel free to make a build thread to keep us up to date
