I would need to see a picture of the column. I have seen some with mustang II columns or mine has an ididit column which uses 70s & 80s chevy parts.

Here is are couple of pics. Click or tap on them for an expanded view. As you can see a toggle switch has been rigged up as a temporary fix. If this helps, a lever on the right side of the key entry must be pushed down to remove the key.

it looks like an 80s gm column. parts & tools to do the job can be bought at local parts store.

Agree with AH1960.
Classic used Mustang II and Chevette columns.
Info on both in assembly manual.
Chevette columns are adjustable / M II are not.

Thanks for the info. It does have an adjustable column. Access to members like you and AH1960 are what makes this Forum so worthwhile.

If that is a tilt column, you will need a tool to compress the spring in the top of the column.  This is under the notched lock ring.  There is a circlip around the shaft  that be removed after the spring is compressed.

I have done it without the tool and with a helper to hold the lock ring down, but it's much easier with the tool.

The lock ring has to be removed to get to the signal switch.
