Saxon Front Brakes Empty Saxon Front Brakes

My build sheet said my 1986 Saxon had Chevette front brakes yet when I ordered pads for it they are far to big? anyone know what other calipers were used - I will post pictures later today

Can't answer your question directly, but when i had the same problem many years ago, i took the pads to my FLAPS (friendly local auto parts store). You know, the kind of place that has actual parts catalogs and old guys that know how to read them. They had a section that showed drawings and sizes of all the pads in numerical order. Getting hard to find that kind of place now days, but might be worth a try.

figured it out ... Chevettes had 2 different front Caliper styles ... early and late with some overlap and depending on which parts catalogue you use they have both Calipers and Pads listed for all years ... early has a caliper with no brackets and a single bolt to locate it this style has smaller pads with a part # ending in 139 the late braketed style caliper has lager pads with a part # ending in 162 ... as I say both are listed for all years
