Flywheel bolts

Hey guys, quick question as I am re-installing my drive-line. Do you guys usually replace your flywheel bolts or just re-torque the old ones? Should I use thread locker?

I never had an issue re-using the old ones but they could not cost that much and it would be a question mark that you can erase.

Yes, I always use thread locker.

I have a 289 Ford, flywheel bolts torqued to 85 lbs (spec), not going anywhere.
You're going to hate that thread locker if you have to take it apart for any reason.
May even need to apply some heat to break them loose.

I am working on my driveline install as well and chose a fresh set of ARP bolts for the flywheel. Their bolt set comes with a small package of torque lube to be placed under the bolt heads plus they recommend the use of blue (temporary) lock tight on the threads. This bolt system does not utilize lock washers (big skull and cross bone warning in the instructions about this). The set came with the new flywheel I purchased from Summit. Liked them enough that I bought a set of ARP clutch pressure plate bolts as well.

Ended up going with the ARP hardware. Very satisfied! And yeah I doubt they would go anywhere, I had to buy a new torquewrench because mine didn't make it to 85ft/lbs. Everything is finally back together and working properly, thank god!
