Adding a second battery, HD Wiring and ''fabbing' a bracket Empty Adding a second battery, HD Wiring and ''fabbing' a bracket

I'm considering the fabrication and mounting of a second, separate battery tray / holder plus the wiring [ H.D..... plus shut-off switch in of an additional battery [in the right, rear fender area]... all to improve the re-starting of my ZZ4 when it's been run for an hour, then shut off for a couple of hours before it's completely cooled down on hot days {80º F. ~ 90º+ F.} ... aka typical 'Cruze' happenings !

Latest incident happened today at Mount Hope "Warplane Heritage Wings and Wheels" event. Luckily, I''m carrying a very good set of booster cables that have been put to good use on two occasions in the past couple of weeks, but it is kind of embarrassing when you have to ask for a boost before everyone leaves!!

There was a 'post' on the old, 'Sebring Owners" by 'bobbyoliver52' on July 4, 2012, along with a couple of 'PDF's that looks very interesting. Around post #747 of 2037 time-frame "BATTERY Bracket.

Adding more info / 'cure' to eliminate the problem. Had another 'hot restart' episode on Wednesday, in my driveway !
Thursday, the suspect battery was removed from the car after being 'trickle-charged' all night, tested {4 years old, only 120 cold cranking amps} and then replaced with a new piece from Carquest / Advance Auto.
The starter was then repeatedly tested ... no issues, no dead spots.
The cooling system fans, relays and fuses were all doing their job, as was the secondary fan temp. sensor. I'd suspected the high heat conditions were creating the problem, not the battery that I thought was only a couple of years old !!
Always learning ....
