could any one tell if the windshields were used in something else besides our kits? could someone supply me pics of the side pieces of the windshield trim not the fiberglass what the fiberglass couvers

Hello Dodds, welcome aboard.
Well, I can answer some parts of your question this way.
Never could get a N.A.G.S. number for the windshield from Classic Roadsters. It's cut from flat glass and can be sourced at most all full service glass shops.
Not sure what you mean about the side covers. There are 3 pieces that make the end cap assembly.
The chrome or body colored cover, the black fiberglass piece that the weather strip attaches to, and a flat chrome piece with screws that sandwich them together.
Do you have the assembly manual?
The type windshield frame used, is sourced from the boat industry as are the bows and hardware. This info has come up before, and I haven't seen a specific source reported by any members.

Jerry thanks for your reply, I'm trying to assemble the windshield frame to be able to make a pattern to have the glass cut from . what seems to be missing are the 2 end pieces that surround the glass connecting the top and bottom parts of the frame these are covered by the fiberglass after the car is assembled, there is a manual here but it is useless on this thanks again

The windshield frame is one piece that is bent to form the top and sides very simular to the old Manx dune buggies.  The bottom is a seperate extruded channel.  The fiberglass end caps just cover the ends of the frame.  Someone on here located a supplier in Cali I think that could form a frame from the original type of material.  It is a fairly complicated extrusion.

I believe that something workable could be fabricated without going to that trouble, but it would have to interface with the top and vent windows.

These cars are wider than an original Healey so an original windshield won't work. I do have a set of original Healey end posts that appear to be workable. I don't think they will fit as is, but are close. These will require a full custom windshield frame. This is the direction I plan to try.

thanks I  THINK there is a base piece that sits on the cowl, along with a separate top piece with a slot for the top fabric to slip into with my kit but no ends any one with pics of a top frame assembled or apart would be really appreciated thanks for your input Bruce

Here are couple of pics of the frame that was on my car.  If I get around to making a custom frame, this one will eventually be for sale.  Can't get rid of just yet, though.

You can see that it is just one length of extruded aluminum that has been bent to form the frame.  There are no joints where it was put together from pieces.  It is bent at the corners.

I have to guess that this part came pre-bent from Classic Roadsters.  The assembly manual shows how it is installed, but doesn't have any info on making it.

On my car, there is no separate piece that the top fits into.  The frame extrusion is made with that slot molded in.  You can see the groove in the last picture.

WOW I just received an e-mail from the guy I got the kits from and he says he has found the windshield frame I'm hoping he is correct and even if I have to make a 2.5 hr drive it will be worth it
