Window Regulator Help

I have a pair of Chevy Chevette window regulators that came with the unfinished kit a bought. Can anybody provide information about these window regulators? Both are missing parts. Will any other type fit in the Sebring? Thanks

The assembly manual I have doesn't list any optional parts other than the Chevette front door window parts.  It says the 1977 Chevette parts won't work, but doesn't say why.

Many GM cars of that era shared parts, but the Chevette doors are so small, I'm not sure anything would cross over. Edit - The outside door handles are available in the "Help" line of aftermarket replacements.

One option would be one of the universal street rod power window kits.  On the Yahoo site, it seems I remember someone went this route an did PW's.  He had to use a kit that had the motor mounted on the tube that carried the drive cable.  Most kits have the motor attached to the bottom of the track, but as I recall, they are too thick to fit in the narrow bottom of the Sebring door.  The tube mounted PW motor allowed the bulky motor to positioned higher toward the front of the door cavity where there was more room.

You may just have to visit a U-Pull-It salvage yard and look in as many cars that have manual windows as you can find.  Some foreign cars may have a simple manual regulator than could be adapted.  Many later model cars don't use the complicated linkage that the 70's cars did.  They use a regulator that is more like a power window with a cogged belt with a crank in place of the motor.

At one time RussNoMore Street Rods offered a 1932 5 window coupe body with manual roll up windows as an option.  You could give them a call and see if they will tell you what they used.  Since the 32 and the Sebring both use straight glass, the regulators may work.  It wouldn't surprise me if it was a regulator from a late model production car.  Can't say if they would help, but it's worth a phone call.

You may have to engineer this one on your own.

BTW -  I have a box of regulator parts somewhere that were supposed to be Chevette.  It's possible that I have what you need.  On a new build, I would look at other options, though.  No need to lock yourself into parts that are getting harder to get every day.

Thanks for the reply. All the door parts I have are from a Chevette. Even though the regulators are old they work fine, just need cleaning, grease. I do need the bottom track/channel that the glass sits in. If you have those, it would be nice and I would like to buy them. I've got photos of what I have, but now sure how to upload photos for this site. I purchased new exterior door handles and locks. I have some old interior door handles which I need to clean up but are fine.
Do you have any photos of the window trim? It appears that I'm missing some of the parts there as well.
