Firewall position Empty Firewall position

In the manual it states that the firewall is to be placed 53 1/4" from the rear of the outrigger. However, when I place the firewall onto the mark its pretty much butting up against the end of the transmission tunnel and pretty close to the cross bar supports to the outside of the frame. But when i look at other builds, you seem to have more clearance in front of the firewall and can see the floor pan. So not sure if the position if mine is 100%.

I might be able to help you with that by looking at my own car next weekend, but you'd need to post a picture describing what you mean more accurately so I can be sure what I'm measuring.
